욜로족 파이어족 뜻 의미

욜로족과 파이어족이라는 신조어가 유행이다. 욜로는 2010년대에 나왔으며 파이어족은 파이어 운동에 동참하는 사람들을 의미한다. 파이어 운동은 경제적 자유와 조기 은퇴를 추구하는 밀레니얼 세대에서 유행이 시작됐다.

욜로(YOLO) You Only Live Once

욜로는 'You Only Live Once, but if you work it right, once is enough. You live every day, you only die once.' 문장의 첫 구절으로 한 번 사는 인생, 제대로 산다면 그럭로 된 것이다. 매일 새로운 경험을 하며 살다가 딱 한 번 죽는 것이라는 의미이다. 이문장 자체는 오래전부터 있었으나 2011년 드레이크라는 미국 래퍼가 <The Motto>라는 곡에서 YOLO라는 훅 가사로 전 세계적으로 유명해지게 되었다.

한국에서는 2014년 tvN 프로그램 <꽃보다 청춘>을 통해 대중들에게 유행어가 됐다. 한국에서는 인생은 한 번뿐이다. 뒷일은 생각하지 말자라는 의미로 현재의 삶에서 최대한 즐거움을 누리자라는 의미로 사용된다. 

파이어족 파이어 운동 FIRE movement

파이어족은 경제적 자유와 조기 은퇴를 추구하는 삶의 방식을 추구하는 사람들을 의미하며 밀레니얼 세대에서 유행하기 시작했다.  원래 파이어 운동에서 시작해 파이어 운동을 추구하며 살아가는 이들을 특별히 파이어족이라고 칭한다.

 

파이어족은 40대 전후로 조기 은퇴를 목표로 하며 불필요한 소비에서 벗어나 중요한 것에 집중한다는 가치관을 가지고 있다. 여기에서 말하는 경제적 자유는 우리가 흔히 알고 있는 부자가 아니라 경제적으로 누군가에게 종속되지 않고 자유로운 상태를 말한다. 그래서 은퇴이후에 여우로운 생활보다는 절약하며 안정적인 삶을 사는 것을 최우선으로 한다. 결국에는 돈에 얽메이지 않고 일을 선택할 수 있는 자유를 추구하는 것이다. 

 

• 파이어족이 되기위해 본인의 생활패턴에 맞춘 소비패턴을 체계화하고
• 은퇴 가능한 목표 자산을 설정
• 소비의 극단적인 절감을 하며
• ETF나 부동산, 예금, 적금, 달러, 금 등의 안정적인 자산에 투자해 종자돈을 마련하는 것이 우선이다. 

파이어족이 되기 위한 목표 자산은 사람마다 다르다.  미국형 파이어족의 목표금액은 본인의 생활비의 25배이며 월급의 70~80%를 저축이나 펀드에 투자해 매해 원금의 4% 이상을 쓸 수 있는 금액이다. 일반적으로 11억 원이라고 한다. 파이어족이 되기 위해서는 우선 1억원의 시드머니를 모아야 한다고 한다.
